The Hawai'i Youth Conservation Corps (HYCC) Summer Program offers individuals the chance to gain environmental restoration experience in a supportive team atmosphere. Participants are assigned to a specific island and spend the summer months working outdoors at various environmental organizations.
The fieldwork and cultural education participants experience through place-based learning provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, gain vocational training and build greater confidence. In addition to learning the fundamentals of natural resource stewardship, participants may also receive college credit, monetary stipends and/or an AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion.
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age by June 3, 2019. If you are 21 or over, please submit the HYCC Summer Team Leader application. Applicants must be comfortable working in outdoor environments, and be able to perform physically demanding work.
HYCC Summer Member Program Dates: June 10th - July 28th, 2019
